Hyatt Business Card Double Elite Nights Posting

Note: The offer discussed in this article relating to double elite nights is no longer available. Learn more by reading the World of Hyatt Business Card review.

I’m updating this post to note that double elite nights are starting to post exactly as expected. Keep in mind it can take up to eight weeks for double elite nights to post, depending on when your stay was, so don’t necessarily expect that all double elite nights from past stays will have already posted.

You can find the original post from before October 6 below.

Signing up for the World of Hyatt Business Card is extremely compelling at the moment for many Hyatt loyalists.

Hyatt Business Card bonus includes double elite nights

The World of Hyatt Business Card offers a standard welcome bonus of 60,000 World of Hyatt points after spending $5,000 within the first three months. This is a great bonus — personally I value World of Hyatt points at 1.5 cents each, so to me, the bonus is worth $900.

But for a limited time it gets even better. If you apply for the World of Hyatt Business Card between August 23 and October 6, 2022, you’ll receive double elite nights for all eligible stays between August 23 and December 31, 2022. This makes it much easier to earn World of Hyatt Globalist status, or to qualify for the next Milestone Rewards threshold.

It can take up to eight weeks for the bonus elite nights to be posted to your account. Note that only elite nights earned through hotel stays will be doubled, and not elite nights earned with credit cards.

If you’re going to apply for the card, Chase’s general application rules apply, including the 5/24 rule. You are eligible for the card (including the bonus) if you have the personal version of the card, the World of Hyatt Credit Card (review). Read about my experience being approved for the card.

This credit card offer can help you earn Globalist status

Why you should get the Hyatt Business Card

What’s the fundamental value proposition of the World of Hyatt Business Card beyond the excellent welcome bonus? The card has a $199 annual fee, though offers a variety of perks that could potentially help offset it:

  • The card offers World of Hyatt Discoverist status not just for the primary cardmember, but also for up to five employees
  • The card offers up to $100 in Hyatt credits annually; these are easy to use, because when you spend $50 or more at any Hyatt property with the card, you’ll get a $50 statement credit, up to two times each anniversary year
  • The card offers five elite nights for every $10,000 spent in a calendar year, meaning you rack up elite nights faster than spending on the personal version of the card
  • The card offers up to 10% of redeemed points back — this applies when you spend $50,000 on the card in a calendar year, and then you can get up to 20,000 points back for redemptions for the remainder of the same year

Hyatt Business Card double elite nights FAQs

There are some common points of confusion about the double elite nights being offered as part of the World of Hyatt Business Card welcome offer, so I wanted to address some of those in this post. If anyone has questions about this offer that I didn’t address, please let me know.

Do existing cardmembers earn double elite nights?

Unfortunately the double elite nights offer is exclusively available to those who apply for the Hyatt Business Card between August 23 and October 6, 2022. Existing cardmembers aren’t eligible to earn double elite nights.

Do you need to pay with the card to earn double elite nights?

You don’t need to pay for your hotel stays with the Hyatt Business Card to earn double elite nights. You just need to have it linked to your account that you’re a primary cardmember, which would automatically be triggered based on applying during the promotion period.

Do award stays earn double elite nights?

Yep, you earn double elite nights on award stays if you apply for the Hyatt Business Card during the promotion period. For World of Hyatt’s purposes, award nights are always considered “qualifying” stays.

Do MGM Rewards stays earn double elite nights?

World of Hyatt and MGM Rewards have a partnership, offering reciprocal perks and points at select MGM properties in Las Vegas. Stays at eligible MGM properties in Las Vegas do indeed qualify for double elite nights as well, assuming you apply for the Hyatt Business Card during the promotion period.

Do SLH stays earn double elite nights?

World of Hyatt and Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) have a partnership, letting World of Hyatt members earn elite nights at SLH properties (and more). Any eligible nights with SLH would also earn double elite nights.

Do you potentially earn double elite nights retroactively?

If you’re approved for the Hyatt Business Card and applied between August 23 and October 6, 2022, then you’re eligible for double elite nights between August 23 and December 31, 2022.

So if you applied on October 1, would you only earn double elite nights between October 1 and December 31, 2022, or would you also earn double elite nights going all the way back to August 23, 2022?

Fortunately if you’re approved you earn double elite nights for the entire promotion period, even for the period before you applied.

When do double elite nights post?

According to the terms, double elite nights will post within eight weeks from the last day of the calendar month of an eligible stay. So don’t expect the double elite nights to post with the initial elite nights you earn (that typically happens within a couple of days of a hotel check-out).

Have double elite nights already posted for some members?

As of now I haven’t seen any reports of double elite nights posting yet for members. However, that’s what we were expecting — it hasn’t yet been eight weeks since the promotion started.

Are elite nights earned with credit cards also doubled?

Both the personal and business Hyatt credit cards let you earn elite nights through spending. However, note that only elite nights earned through actual hotel stays are doubled, and not elite nights earned through credit card spending.

Can you earn triple elite nights at all-inclusive properties?

With World of Hyatt’s Bonus Journeys promotion, members can earn double elite nights at 65+ Inclusive Collection resorts. The promotions do stack, so if you applied for the Hyatt Business Card and stayed at an Inclusive Collection property, you could potentially earn triple elite nights.

Can I get this card if I’m over the Chase 5/24 limit?

With Chase’s 5/24 limit, you typically won’t be approved for a card if you’ve opened five or more new card accounts in the past 24 months (opening select business cards wouldn’t count toward that). This card is subjected to that rule, and there’s no easy way to bypass it.

This promotion is a great opportunity to earn Hyatt Globalist status

Bottom line

The World of Hyatt Business Card has a phenomenal welcome bonus that not only includes 60,000 World of Hyatt points upon completing minimum spending, but also includes double elite nights on Hyatt stays through the end of the year.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you’re a Hyatt loyalist, especially if you’re struggling to earn elite status this year.

Do you plan on taking advantage of this World of Hyatt Business Card bonus?

Ben - Do you have any contacts at Hyatt? I was told by e-mail from Hyatt, and numerous times over the phone, that my award stays do not count. I have already confirmed with chase that the double nights were tied to my application when I was approved in the middle of Sept. for the business card. Hyatt also checked with chase regarding my eligibility for the promotion. I was also informed that I would not be eligible for any double elite nights for stays before my approval date for the card. Thank you! Just looking for clarity as I try to requalify for globalist.

One thing that may confuse a lot of people is the double nights given with the journeys promotion which ends dec 20th. Its not clear if the double nights people are getting is from the bonus promotion or if its from the credit card promotion that ends 31 dec.

  3. John Guest

Regarding the bonus nights. Hyatt says they have nothing to do with this, only Chase. I call Chase and they have no clue. Lady says she will escalate to Marketing.

I applied for the WOH bus. card in late Aug. My expiration date on the card is Aug.

I was given on Nov. 3, 3 bonus nights. I stayed 2 nights in late Aug. and 4 nights in Sept. I do not know the cut-off date for sending the bonus. Is it all of Sept. or part of Sept.

    Very confusing.

  4. Jason B Guest

I'm in the same boat and was told by Hyatt that nights stayed before applying would not get the 2x retroactively, which is why I applied in the first place. Does anyone happen to have a screenshot or link to the actual terms and conditions? Hyatt and Chase both don't have the actual terms to show me, but Hyatt is telling me the terms are different than what is stated in this article.

FYI, I just had the second batch of double nights post to my account a few minutes ago.

I finally got clarification that I will not be receiving double nights for the period from 8/23- 10/5/22- the date that I received card.

I agree that the lack of any input here at this point is frustrating.

    2. Martin C Guest

Agreed that its Definitely frustrating, i applied for this card due to Lucky’s post on the retroactive posting of the double nights as well…

    3. Vipin Sharma Guest

In the same boat. Did not get credit for the nights before application date. Disappointing

    4. JDA Guest

I have been equally frustrated, as I had a four night stay in late September (before I applied for the card) that did not receive double nights. At least until last week when my qualifying nights increased by 4. Yes, I’ve had multiple stays over the past two weeks, but those have all been credited. I’m still sitting at +4, so I’m fairly certain I got credit for my stay prior to applying for the card. Hopefully you see your nights post in the next several weeks.

  7. Bobby Griff Guest

If I stay on Say December 25th, will the bonus night count for this year or next year when it post?

    1. Kiwi Guest

Depends when you check out. Dec 31 or before is this year. Later than that is next year and prob not doubled.

  8. Jesse Guest

Do you earn double elite nights if you applied and were approved for the Hyatt business card during the promotional period and are using an awards category 1-4 certificate to stay?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Jesse -- Yep, you sure do!

  9. Kylie P Guest

Can anyone who had the bonus nights post share how it's tagged on your Hyatt Account history? I'm still waiting for my bonus nights to appear. I only see my bonus nights for credit card spending post as "Reward Bonus - Qualifying Nights 5 - Chase". It's rather vague.

    1. Anita Guest

They are not "spelled out," but the number is magically there in the total. I went thought all my activity to double check. They took a lot less than 8 weeks to post.

  10. Andrew Guest

Regarding the 8 weeks, does that mean 8 weeks since the stay was completed, or 8 weeks after being approved for the card?

My stay on Aug 27 was exactly 8 weeks ago, but I haven’t received double nights. My card application was submitted Oct 1, but not approved until Oct 13

  11. Hyatt is Good Guest

Good Job Hyatt! I finally gotz mine.

  12. Meimei Guest

Double elite nights just posted under my account today:-)

    1. Bobby Griff Guest

Did they show up when you statment arrived, or just popped up in the account? Also, what was the lenght of time between the stay and the posting of the bonus nights?

      TIA

8/23-8/28: 5 nights at Hyatt props

8/30 Opened a Chase Hyatt Biz card for the 2x nights stayed from 8/23 to 12/31

From 8/30 to 10/16: Stayed 7 nights (6 were MGM props) and received 7 night credit stays

10/16 Statement closed and received additional 7 nights credit to Hyatt account

So the double nights are posting. However I haven’t received the double night credits for the 8/23-8/28 stays (stayed before the opening of credit card)

    1. TcATL Guest

Ben, would really appreciate some clarification on this point from Hyatt/Chase. Lots of people with retroactive nights not posting when stays occurred before we applied but inside the timeframe advertised.

  14. LP Guest

another data point - I got approved 9/22. had 7 nights of stays within the eligible period before I applied. I had 2 more nights 10/7 and 10/9. Yesterday (10/20), I saw 2 bonus nights show up on my account. I called Hyatt and after a long hold, they told me that the promo is NOT retroactive and only nights after I got the card would count 2x. They said I could try calling chase since they issue the nights to appear on my account...

  15. Martin C Guest

I got 4 double nights posted last night..
i had a stay Aug 21-24 (3), Aug 28-29 (1) and Oct 12-16 (4). Altho 21 and 22 August isnt included in the promo, did they look at the check out date and gave me all 3 nights? Or did i get the 4 double nights from my October stay? I am assuming the former..? but just wish Hyatt could be more clear on which nights goes to which..

    1. James Guest

It seems like the key is when you applied and got approved for the credit card. Did you get approved exactly on 8/23? If you got approved after 8/29, then most likely you only got credit for the 10/12-10/16 stay.

    2. Martin C Guest

So you think it took Chase only 4days to post my 10/12-10/16 stay? I will keep an eye for my 10/18-10/21 stays, if i see the double miles in the coming days, i guess you are right..

But yeah i applied for the card in early September, so after my August stays., figured if it took 8 weeks, 10/20 is about 8weeks..

  16. tj Guest

Here is my data point. Applied for and was approved on August 29. All stays incl. a 1 night stay from Aug 27-28 (ie before I applied) were properly accounted for double nights. I also had 3 nights at MGM and they doubled.

  17. Miles Guest

I applied for and received the card this month (I have a bunch of Hyatt stays) but they did not double the stay from the beginning of the month, before I was approved. :(

    1. JDA Guest

Just got double nights for a stay I completed on Oct 17, but I have not received double nights for a stay completed on Sept 27 (before I applied for the card). Can you please confirm with Hyatt or Chase and update your article when they respond?

    2. tj Guest

I should count. I applied August 29 and they counted a stay for Aug 27-28

    3. James Guest

This seems to be the clearest evidence of 2 things:
      1. Hyatt/Chase indeed gave 2x credit for stays up to 10/17.
      2. The stays have to be completed after applying for the card (not sure if you apply and get approved on different dates - what happens).

  18. Jose Colon Guest

Just a quick data point: I was (and still am) at 5/24 when I applied. Originally denied but reconsideration line pushed it through.

  19. James Guest

Mines just posted too. So here's another data point. I applied for the card on 8/25 and finally got approved on 8/31. I had a 3 night stay 8/23-8/26, another 3 night stay 9/2-9/5, a 1 night stay on 9/23-9/24 and a 3 night stay on 10/13-10/16. I got 7 nights posted. I am hoping that they just haven’t counted my 10/13-10/16 stay yet. But I'm fearful that they're not counting my 8/23-8/26 stay instead.

    1. Angel Guest

@James: I just checked and I got 4 bonus nights which is exactly the stays I had in September. I think they just processed those for now....maybe they do it in monthly batches. Hope this helps!

    2. Zorrobandit Guest

Just letting every one know that additional nights posted today that reflect double nights credit for my stays prior to card issuance. So it appears Hyatt is honoring the deal as originally understood, but failed to inform customer service agents or Globalist concierges.

Why can't we just clarity from either Chase or Hyatt, but as others have noted, you will just the the runaround when calling.

Has anyone seen double nights posting yet? I had a stay end of August within the eligible period. Now, mid October, still NOTHING posted. I applied through your link earlier and was approved but as I was looking up more information on the card, I saw a post on The Points Guy where the author claimed “You must apply and be approved by Oct. 6 at 9 a.m. ET to receive the two Tier-Qualifying Night Credits for each night you stay through Dec. 31, 2022.”

Any information on this 9am cut off? The application clearly still stated the limited 2x elite nights when I applied. Thanks Ben!

I resent another message, and a different chase agent asked for a few more days to confirm. What to confirm, even though the offer is explicitly mentioned on their offer page, I don't know.

    2. Hyatt concierge that I reached out to, know nothing about this as well. When I walked her through the offer, she said it had something to do with spend threshold and I better contact Chase.

    3. I called Chase, and spoke to a phone agent. She confirmed that since my card approval is well within the window, she said that I should be eligible and the benefit should be included in the benefit package sent with the card. I asked her to resend that benefit package to me. Request was made on Oct 3, so I am hoping I would see it on a written document.

So far, I have 2 stays, totaling 3 nights and no extra elite nights have posted. Granted, the time for credit is up to 8 weeks but we'll see. It's a big difference whether the extra nights will post correctly or not. Not posting means I need 30+ nights, which is huge since it is October already.

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Bob -- Totally agree that it's frustrating how the communication around this offer isn't going so well. That being said, I'd rest assured that everything will post correctly, and I don't think there's any need to follow-up here. If you applied with the correct link you should be eligible, and the system should automatically post the double elite nights to your account.

    Ben,

Do you know if they would have reason to exclude a Cat 1-4 Award stay from the 2x qualifying nights promo.

Also do MGM nights count for the 2x?

@ David Martus -- Yep, MGM stays and stays booked with free night awards would also be eligible for double elite nights.

@ Marissa -- They will still count toward 2022 status, no matter when they actually post to your account, as long as the stay is completed in 2022.

  30. CDR Guest

I recently received this card and stayed 1 night during the promotional period but only received 1 elite night. Has anyone actually had the bonus night post?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ CDR -- The terms say it can take up to eight weeks, and I haven't seen any reports of double elite nights posting yet.

Most of the time, Chase reps & Hyatt reps have no Idea about Double Nights for Business Card. Hyatt will pass it to Chase, Chase will send it back to Hyatt claiming we don't do "Nights".

I'm surprised given there was a Double TQN / elite night promotion on new personal card apply in 2021, Lucky didn't bother to gather data points from last year for references.

A few points from my experience:
    1. Chase customer service barely knows anything, don't bother with them. The fact you applied the card during the period and approved, set a flag on your Hyatt account to have any actual stayed night to be doubled automatically. All Hyatt customer reps can see the flag
    2. Bonus TQN come at very low frequency, usually end of month during last year, it was Oct 27, Nov 30, Dec 26 and 31 (for stays during last 5 days of 2021) Highly suspect the program was ran manually.

    1. TJ Guest

I asked @hyattconcierge today whether "I am okay for the promo", they answered that they can not say from their system. Bizzare.

  33. ECR Gold

Slightly off topic but Have a recent stay at an SLH property charged to Hyatt card that didn't code as Hyatt spend (for 5 points/$). Don't see any way of getting Chase/Hyatt to review this online, whats the best email/phone to contact?

    1. Ethan Guest

SLH property charges aren't counted as Hyatt points. Lucky also get burned as I remember.

  34. Mark Guest

    Good afternoon Ben,

I've been approved for the card and had a questions regarding a situation where a stay started before the promotional window and ended during it? For example, a stay that spanned from August 20th to 25th.

Should I expect to receive double elite night credits for the the entire stay, none of it, or only for the nights of 23rd and 24th?

    Thank you!

    Mark

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Mark -- That's an excellent question. Generally Hyatt decides whether a stay is qualifying based on the check-out date, and then the entire stay would qualify (for example, that's how it works with Hyatt's Bonus Journeys promo). If I had to guess, I'd say the entire stay will receive double elite nights, but I can't guarantee it.

    2. Mark Guest

I understand, thank you for your time Ben! :-)

  35. BenjaminGuttery Diamond

Marriott Bonvoy needs to step it up or their loyalist ranks will be severely reduced....

  36. TJ Guest

@Ben - since elite nights post 8 weeks after the end of the month, will this pose an issue for Globalist qualification? I.e. if I stay in a hotel in December, those nights may not post until February 2023. Will this then qualify for 2022 elite nights?

    1. Kyle from RVA Guest

I had this same question and found this in the fine print : "World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits are valid from the date of issuance through December 31st of the same calendar year, however, please note that World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night Credits awarded for 2022 nights will apply to status for 2022 even if issued and/or received in 2023."

    2. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ TJ -- As noted by Kyle from RVA, this won't be an issue. Elite nights will be backdated to 2022 if they only post to your account in 2023. What matters is when you stay.

  37. Marko Guest

any reports yet of bonus elite nights posting?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Marko -- I haven't seen any reports yet of double elite nights posting. But that's expected, given the promised timeline.

    2. CDR Guest

Just checking in to see if you have received any reports of the double elite nights posting yet. I booked a stay using all points and did not receive the bonus night.

  38. debutdebut Guest

I applied for the card on Aug 23rd and was instantly approved. But when I check with the Secure Message team, they say that the offer of 2 tier qualifying nights for 1 night was not attached to my account. I sent the screenshots of the offer, but the secure message team said the offer is not addressed to me....

Do you know how to solve the problem..thank you and I really appreciate that.

    1. AnnoyedChaseUser Guest

Yeah, this thing is a hot mess. I checked with secure message and a phone agent and they both just said I wasn't eligible for the 2 tier qualifying night offer despite me applying through the OMAAT link. I have no use for the card otherwise so just decided to close my account.

Something funky is going on with this offer, there must be some behind the scene requirements that aren't disclosed and that Lucky isn't mentioning in the article

    2. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ debutdebut @ AnnoyedChaseUser -- It sounds like some frontline reps might not have correct information. But if you applied during the promotion period with an eligible link, then rest assured that you'll receive double elite nights. Keep in mind that it's World of Hyatt fulfilling this offer, so it's possible that some Chase reps just aren't fully aware of the promo.

    3. debutdebut Guest

      Hi Ben,
thanks for your reply. Do you think it is a good idea to check with Hyatt customer service now to check whether I qualified for the offer? Thanks.

  39. Tng Guest

Do you know if this promo would stack if I’m enrolled in the fast track globalist challenge? Looking to confirm if staying 10 nights after I opened this card would get me globalist for next year. Thanks!

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Tng -- Generally fast track promos are based on actual number of nights stayed, so I wouldn't expect that your double elite nights would count toward that requirement. I could be mistaken, though, as we haven't seen any firsthand reports yet (since double elite nights haven't posted for anyone).

  40. mike Guest

    Hi Ben,

Just got off a conversation with Hyatt Concierge and they claim that award stays will not count for this promotion, only paid stays. I don't see anything specific to paid or award stays in the terms, just eligible, which is vague. Do we have any data points or other written statement that confirm that award stays are part of the promo?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ mike -- That doesn't match my understanding. Across the board Hyatt seems to count award stays in the same way as revenue stays when it comes to them being "eligible." I'll try to get an official answer, but that doesn't match my understanding, and I'd be pretty confident that this is just a case of a misinformed agent.

  41. Nate Guest

I didn't see this in the article or comment, but what about stays at SLH properties? Will these be doubled?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Nate -- Yep, those would be doubled as well.

  42. sue Guest

I just got approved and haven't received the physical card. Could I book the room today and get double nights?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ sue -- Yeah, as long as you're approved during the promotion period you can start booking travel. There's no need to wait until you have the card, as there's no requirement to use the card for the hotel nights to earn double points.

  43. bill Guest

When do these double award nights post? After the reservation has been completed and the initial nights post, or in one fell swoop at the end of the year?

    1. mydogsarebad Guest

I would like to know this also. I had a stay last week after I was approved for the card. I only received one night credit. Chase via a SM told me I need to use the card in order to receive the extra night credit. very confusing. How does chase know about Hyatt stays?

    2. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ bill -- Here's what the terms say:
"Please allow up to 8 weeks from the last day of the calendar month of your stay, for World of Hyatt Tier-Qualifying Night credits to be added to your World of Hyatt account."

  44. Luis Guest

I'm currently at 5/24, heard that if you apply directly at a Chase branch, such application bypasses any 5/24 restrictions, heard of any data points to support such claim? Any other tips to get around 5/24? I'm so close to Globalist, this might be my last chance.

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Luis -- No, that's not a method that works nowadays, unfortunately. Maybe it worked back in the day, but it has been a long time.

  45. Mike Guest

@Lucky after all theae years writing about credit card sign-ups bonuses, have you ever considered writing one of your comprehensive guides on how non US citizens could sign up and be accepted for these cards?

Could be either through personal family members based in the US or perhaps by opening a Business in the US?

I think this would be helpful for a lot of your readers.

    What do you think?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Mike -- Let me see what I can do, though unfortunately that might not be all that easy. Here's a post from a long time ago about potential steps, but it's a process:

  47. Mark Guest

Does the business card need to be used to book the hotel nights for the 2x to count here or can I use a different card to book?

For example, if we stayed 10 nights between 08/23 and 09/02 but weren't approved until 09/03 would those 10 nights be doubled to 20?

Thank you very much for your help!

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Mike M -- Yep, MGM stays should qualify. It's fine if the nights post before you're approved, all that matters is that you're approved during the promotion period.

    2. Mike M Guest

Awesome, thank you so much for the help Ben, really appreciate it!

Congratulations on your new baby boy!

  49. ny ar Guest

Just one clarification...To receive the double night credit do we need to charge the nights to the Hyatt biz card? Or can we charge the stays to any card and just the fact of having the biz card is enough to trigger the double nights?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ ny ar -- You can use any card, as just having the business card linked to your account is enough.

  50. Vince Guest

I apply and am approved by 10/6, would qualifying stays between 8/23 and 10/6 be retroactively considered for 2x? At the language's face value, this would appear to be true. I won't be 4/24 until end of September, but I have some stays booked between now and then.

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Vince -- Yep, nights should count retroactively during the promotion period.

    2. John Guest

I was told by Hyatt Concierge that only nights between when approved and end of promotion count for double for those nights before the approval date.

  51. Heather Guest

When I log into my chase account to apply it is still showing the old offer. Where do I find the updated offer? When I click through the referral link it prompts me to log in and then doesn’t show the offer .

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Heather -- If you apply through the landing page in the post of this blog (or any other landing page that shows the double elite night offer) then I can assure you that you'll be eligible for the offer, even if it doesn't show after you log-in.

    Hi all,

I have no status with Hyatt yet and have been waiting for this offer to return before applying.

I want to get to Globalist before the end of the year but struggling to figure out the best strategy.

I only have award nights booked before the end of the year. Am I correct that those count towards double? I.e. 5 award nights in a grand hyatt in NYC = 10 nights with this CC?

Assuming I need to reach 60 nights:

    Spending 50k = 10 * 2 nights = 20 nights

    5 award nights = 10 nights

So I have 30 nights remaining to reach Globalist right? Would it then be worth doing a couple of mattress runs?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ anna -- Correct, your five award nights would count double if you applied for this card. If you're spending on the Hyatt Business Card, you actually earn five elite nights for every $10K spent in a calendar year, so spending $50K would earn you 25 elite nights, putting you at 35 elite nights.

You'd then just need another 25 elite nights, which could be earned with 13 hotel stays (assuming you earned double elite nights).

      Good luck!

    2. Amna Guest

      Hey Ben,

Thanks for the response. My math was silly as I re-read it!

Now thinking whether it makes sense to spend 5k points for 2 award nights (some nearby hotels are 5k a night), versus paying in cash.

13 hotel nights = 65k hyatt points (assuming 5k per night). The bonus from the CC + spending 50k would get me to 110k+ points so I will easily be able to do this, but it's more about whether that would be worth it.

  53. Johnathan Guest

Do referrals count for the double elite nights? The landing page from OMMAT shows the 2x elite nights, but the referral link from P2 doesn't..

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Johnathan -- If the page through which you apply doesn't list the double elite nights offer then I wouldn't count on getting it. It's possible it would work, but it's a risk...

    2. xdczdgd Guest

same question. can you report back if you signed up using the referral link that does not have this double elite nights language?

  54. David Guest

    Award nights count towards this?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

      @ David -- Yep!

  55. BenjaminGuttery Diamond

Lucky, have you heard of anything coming up for Marriott Bonvoy re-qualification? The only promo was early in the year for "double nights". I'm skimming by to Platinum this year after being Titanium the last 5. Have the Boundless card already. From my understanding, even if I opened up another Marriott card now, I wouldn't earn the other 15 nights because of how late in the year it is anyways. Need some help from Marriott to requalify.

    1. stlsch02 Member

You need to open Amex Marriott business card for the extra 15 nights

Not 2 personal Marriott credit cards

    2. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ BenjaminGuttery -- Unfortunately I haven't heard anything, though I wouldn't be surprised to see some promotion that makes it easier to earn status later in the year. It's not too late in the year to get 15 elite nights from a credit card, though. If you have a personal and business card you could get a total of 30 elite nights from credit cards.

  56. Brennen Guest

Does the double elite nights also count for elite nights earned through spending on this card (as in, spend $10k get 10 elite nights instead of 5 elite nights)? Or is that solely for actual stays at Hyatt hotels?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Brennen -- It's only for stays at Hyatts, so elite nights earned with the card wouldn't be doubled.

  57. BML Guest

I wonder if those elite nights would also qualify towards any fast track challenge that need less number of nights to reach Exploits, Globalist etc? E.g. the Corporate challenge?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ BML -- That would come down to the terms of that specific challenge. I believe most of those challenges are based on actual number of nights completed, and not elite qualifying nights as such. So my assumption is that these nights wouldn't count double toward that, but I could be wrong.

  58. Sean Guest

Does this apply to existing business WoH cardholders? Killing myself to Requalify for Globalist currently, and this would be huge.

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Sean -- Unfortunately existing cardmembers aren't eligible for this. It's an offer for new cardmembers only. Sorry!

    2. Al Guest

The bottom line is this card is not attractive enough so they have to throw out a bone. Same boat as you Sean for putting a lot of spend this year to requalify for Globalist. It is what it is.

  59. mike Guest

did they get rid of the award rebate for certain spend amounts?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ mike -- They have that as well, but personally I find the spending requirement to be quite high for a fairly low cap on how many points you can have rebated. It's a good point, though, and I'll add it to the post. Thanks for the reminder.

    2. Brian Guest

How does that rebate work? Spend $50k on the business card in a calendar year and receive 20k Hyatt points in your account automatically? Or do you only receive the points if you’ve redeemed that many’s worth in award stays before spending the $50k?

  60. Mantis Guest

I assume you would get 3x elite nights if you stack this with the all inclusive offer?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Mantis -- I believe so, as I don't see anything in the terms & conditions of either offer indicating they're not combinable with another offer.

  61. Alex Z Guest

    @ Lucky

If I previously booked a few stays using my personal card would I still be eligible for double elite nights? Do I just switch my personal card for the business card when paying for the stay?

    1. Ben Schlappig OMAAT

@ Alex Z -- You don't even have to use the card to pay for your stay. All that matters is that you apply for the card during the promotional period, and then you'll automatically have double elite nights post to your account. Previously booked stays should qualify, as long as you stay during the offer period.

    2. Alex Z Guest

Thank you for the quick reply. I'll still use the new card if approved to meet the spending requirement

  62. Chris Guest

Unless you are spending exact increments of 10k, the calendar year is a deal breaker. If you get to 9,900 at the end of the year you lose it. At least with the personal card unless I’m mistaken it’s every 5k with no calendar year limitation. I just don’t see anything extra this card provides you can’t get with the personal.

    1. Evan Guest

The headline of the article provides the #1 differentiator between this and the personal card, and that's double elite nights for stays during the promotional period. That new perk alone will help me requal for Globalist this year.

I finally got clarification that I will not be receiving double nights for the period from 8/23- 10/5/22- the date that I received card. So annoying that chase is creatively interpreting the terms and conditions, and lucky is acting as if nights are "are starting to post exactly as expected" This may be what you expected, but it certainly isnt what you wrote. We all make mistakes, and perhaps you were misinformed, but its not too helpful to sweep this under the rug like it didnt happen
